Halloween Primitive Doll

When I am not working on jewelry I make prim dolls. Halloween dolls are one of my favorites to make.

The entire doll body and clothing is made by me. The faces are hand painted and stitched to bring out noses and such.

On this doll I also created body jewelry which is not shown in the picture.

I will be offering Christmas Dolls on my Etsy site soon.

Polymer Clay and Gold Leaf Necklace

Handcrafted Polymer beads, dusted with rich gold and copper flake and then sealed. I hand sanded each bead. I enjoy the weight of the beads...they feel good in my hand.

Leaves, chain, spacers and lobster clasp are metal

My handcrafted necklace makes me think of lost ancient artifacts, newly discovered in a long forgotten cave...great riches that were long ago buried by thieves

Red Coral against Hammered Copper

It is said, Poseidon resides in a palace made of coral and gems in the deepest of oceans. This lovely pair of seahorse earrings surfaced with a bounty of Poseidon's Coral.

Coral has been used for decorative purposes and also regarded as a protective stone. Even today, red corals are still worn as a talisman to protect the wearer against evil spirits in many cultures. Coral, it is said, relieves tension and fear and promotes positive forms of social life.

Hammered Copper-Seasons in the Sun

We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the stars we could reach, were just starfishs on the beach. Terry Jacks

A beautiful combination of textured hammered copper
and Czech glass beads with a S link closure. Matching hand formed earrings.

Necklace measures 24" Long-Not counting Focal. Focal is 2" long. (Links may easily be removed if a shorter necklace is desired-but I think you will like this necklace at this length.) Necklace slips over my head easily without using the closure.

The hammered S links I made from 16 gauge copper wire. Each link is hand cut and then hammered flat to give it strength. I then give each link texture with my ball peen hammer. Finally I tumble and then polish. The texture is beautiful. Since the links and the beaded links are handmade, there may be variations in shape and texture.

The Czech glass faceted beads that adorn the copper necklace are in an array of yellows, deep green and burnt red. Remind me of all Seasons. I separated each bead with a small glass rainbow seed bead.

The spiral focal is hand formed, hammered and VERY slowly heat treated to bring out the yellow, gold of the copper. (I didn't want a rainbow on the focal-just a warm sunshine look).

I made the earrings in the same manner I described above. Each earring has five beads.

I use bare copper and do not seal it. The necklace will darken and develop a beautiful, glowing patina with age

Seahores...Seahorses...

In old seafarers’ lore, white crested waves thrashing and frothing with foam were said to be really seahorses riding on the surface for all to see, perchance carrying Poseidon’s forces or secret treasures from the depths of the unknown.

My Mystical Seahorse Earrings are becoming my signature piece. I am doing special orders for them now.

Pictured are all done in copper.

Today I am working on two in Sterling Silver - One Oxidized and one not. Pictures hopefully tomorrow!
